Editorial Policy

Last updated: October 2026

This policy explains how content on Texas Healthcare Guide is created, sourced, reviewed, and corrected.

1. What we publish

We publish general educational information about healthcare processes and resources (patient portals, medical records, appointments, finding care, insurance basics, and general wellness topics) for Texans and general readers. We do not publish personalized medical guidance, and we do not diagnose, treat, or cure anything.

2. How we source information

3. Link verification

Every external link is manually checked before publication and re-checked periodically, with a verification date recorded. If a link breaks or the destination changes, it is corrected or removed. We do not replace dead links by guessing new ones. Readers can report broken or inaccurate links through the Contact page.

4. Plain language and clarity

Articles avoid unnecessary jargon. Where medical terminology must be used, it is explained in plain language on the same page.

5. Review and dating

Articles should carry a reviewed date. Health-related material must be checked against cited official sources before publication. Topics that warrant clinical review require an appropriately qualified professional reviewer, whose name and credentials should be shown with the article. No article should imply professional review until that review has occurred.

6. Corrections

If an error is found or reported, we correct the content promptly and, for substantive corrections, note what changed with a date.

7. What we never publish

8. Conflicts of interest

The site operator must disclose ownership, funding, affiliate, advertising, or sponsorship relationships in the About section before launch. Relevant financial interests should be disclosed on affected content pages.

9. Independence of resources

Resource listings exist to inform and are curated for usefulness and officialness, not commercial compensation. Any future funded placement would be clearly labeled.
