Our mission

Texas Healthcare Guide exists to make healthcare information easier to understand. We publish plain-language guides about the processes that affect nearly everyone (patient portals, medical records, appointments, insurance basics, and general wellness) so Texans can navigate those processes with less confusion and more confidence.

What we are: and what we are not

Texas Healthcare Guide is an independent educational information website. To be completely clear:

• We are not a healthcare provider, hospital system, clinic, pharmacy, or laboratory.
• We are not a Texas government agency or any branch of state or federal government.
• We are not a patient portal. We never collect portal usernames, passwords, verification codes, or medical records.
• We are not affiliated with or endorsed by Epic Systems Corporation, MyChart, or any healthcare organization.
• We do not diagnose, treat, cure, or replace care from licensed professionals.

To access your own account or records, always use your own healthcare provider’s official website.

How we create content

Our guides are written for clarity, informed by official public sources, and edited for accuracy and plain language. Our full standards, including sourcing rules, review process, and how content is updated, are published in our Editorial Policy.
